I don't mind cold weather. In fact I'm partial to it. This time of year though I begin looking forward to spring and warmer weather with earnest. I love the awakening and freshness that spring promises. The longer days, being outside soaking up the sunshine and seeing the new chicks and ducklings that come in the spring. Spring is a reflective time for me. I like to sit on my porch (tea in hand of course!)and think about my life and the choices I've made. Where I have been and where I want to go. How incredibly lucky I am to have the life I do and to be able to pursue this dream of mine that has become a reality. Somehow February has become that final stretch in my mind, I see March on the horizon and if I can just hold on a little bit longer I'm almost there! I assume this started when I was younger because my birthday was in March and was cause for so much excitement. These days though I look forward to other things. The song of returning birds, readying and planting the garden with my husband and sitting outside with a good book. And this year, picking out the absolute perfect tea flavors to welcome the spring awakening.
PS it is HIGHLY illegal to keep Canadian Geese. These guys show up, and stay for extended periods. But they are free to leave at anytime!
